Reba McEntire Set To Headline The Mother Church Of Country Music

Reba McEntire first appeared on the Country music since on January 22, 1976 when she released her first Single “I Don’t Want To Be A One Night Stand” on the Mercury Records label.  Her Debut Single only reached Number 88 on the Billboard Country Music Chart.

Oh, but what she has accomplished since then in her amazing career:  Singer, Songwriter, Record Producer, Broadway, TV Star, Actress, and so much more.

Reba McEntire’s Country music awards include the record for CMA Award nominations for a female artist, the most Academy of Country Music Top Female Vocalist Awards, the most American Music Awards for Favorite Country Female Artist, being a member of the Grand Ole Opry since September 17, 1977, and the distinction of recording Number One Hits in four decades, the 1980s, the 1990s, the 2000s, and the 2010s.

Now, for the first ever, the Country Music Hall of Famer is set to headline the Mother Church of Country Music on February 15, 2017.

Reba will also release her new double-disc collection known as “Sing It Now:  Songs Of Faith and Hope” on February 3, 2017.  This 21-song compilation includes Gospel Classics, and features Trisha Yearwood and Kelly Clarkson.

Dolly Parton Telethon

Among the Artists named to appear on Dolly Parton’s “Smoky Mountains Rise:  A Benefit For the My People Fund” telethon were Alison Krauss, Reba McEntire, and Dolly’s long time singing partner, Kenny Rogers.  The telethon will air at 7pm , on Tuesday, December 13th,  on Great American Country.

Benefitting the Dollywood Foundation’s My People Fund, the three hour telethon is designed to provide a thousand dollars a month for six months to residents of Sevier County who lost their primary homes in the recent wildfires that swept the area.

“I know it has been a trying time for my people and this assistance will help get them back on their feet,” Parton said explaining why she established the telethon.

Renters and homeowners in the region can apply at dollywoodfoundation. org.

The USA Today Network plans to stream the telethon.

Another example of Country Performers stepping up to the plate to lend a helping hand when it is needed most.
